A little update

I have been major slacking on blogging!  I had all these great intentions of blogging the end of my pregnancy and making sure I put up weekly pictures and updates so I could look back and enjoy all that hard work!  Yeah,  um that's not going to happen.  I think since I like to be planned and have things just right, God is giving me chances to be more open to NOT being that way.  I am skipping over Thanksgiving- which I hosted again- it was nice, yummy, and uneventful!  Now, on the the fun part...baby Gabe!!!  He is here!

On Saturday, Dec. 3 (also the anniversary of my moms passing) my dad took Sam to the Christmas parade and the husband and I got into full nesting mode and organized the boys rooms.  We put up the crib and cleaned the room from top to bottom, hung clothes and got the baby stuff out.  Then we finished Sam's cowboy room.  It was painted but the furniture was not put together and I had to hang up some of the cute lil things I found.  So, once that was done, I felt SO much better.  So on Sunday I packed my hospital bag and called my hair girl to get a cut in a week- which was 4 days before my scheduled c-section.  Yes, I said c-section- the kid turned breech and was measuring really, really big- like almost 9lbs.

On Wednesday, Dec. 7 I had a regular dr's appt and NST monitoring- they hook you up to a monitor and just look at baby movement and any contractions, etc.  Jarrett was off that day and so we went and got some Christmas lights at Target and ran some other errands and then headed to the dr's.  My dr. came in and looked at the paper and said "are you feeling those contractions?"  Why yes I was, but they didn't hurt and I had been having them for weeks!  She said they look consistent and let me sit for a lil bit longer to check them again.  Then she said I was 2cm dilated and that she was going to send me across to the hospital to get some iv fluids and just get monitored and that possibly I was going to have a baby that night.  WHAT?  I had not gotten a pedicure, hair cut, brought my bags, nothing and it really drove me nuts!  So we headed over to the hospital and got all hooked up and after an hour, the nurse said "you aren't going anywhere, you are having a baby tonight! So in about 3.5 hours I went from dr's to operating room!  And here he is!!!  John Gabriel Wilson 7:59pm 9.2lbs 20 inches!

Excited big brother!

fall

First day of school

First light sabor- did I spell that right?

                                       Yummy corn dog

Apple picking with his favorite person, his cousin Logan

I love fall and if it would just get a little cooler during the day, I can put my pumpkins out without sweating!  Nothing big here going on....still just watching baby b grow and getting used to how different this pregnancy is- things have started earlier like peeing, pressure, etc.  Heartburn is new too, but I am just enjoying it anyway!  Sam has been a busy little boy this fall.  He started school and his teachers love him, and he is a kind friend and a good helper- awww, every mama's dream!  However drop off is still hard for him, he cries and his teacher Miss Amy has to pull him out of the car but this too shall pass!  He says such funny stuff I really need to start to write it down or blog it- but them again only a kids parent thinks that their kid is funny, you all might not get such a kick out of him!

So far this month, we have gone to the fair, apple picking and the pumpkin patch.  Next weekend is a festival at church and of course Halloween- stay tuned to see the Hoover vacuum!

Beach 2011

We just got home from a week at Myrtle Beach!  It was fun and relaxing- love going in September- no lines, still warm, and cheaper too!  I keep telling myself that we will only be able to do this until Sam is in kindergarten which isn't far away- sniff, sniff!  We stayed where my family went growing up, it has been 9 years since I have been there and it was just as nice!  When were sitting on the beach on the last warm day, I told Jarrett that this might be our last vacation as a family of 3!  The last day was cloudy and cool, but it was fun to play on the beach and take some pics of my 2 favorite boys!

Baby Wilson is a........

My 20 week appt finally got here!  When in the throws of feeling sick, I never thought it would get here and everyday I tried hard to rejoice in the gift of a new baby, but folks that was hard!  Yes, baby Wilson #2 is a BOY!  Sam keeps saying "no" "girl"!  But buddy, you are going to have a little bit of a hard time if we don't get that right by December.  It is so weird because people's first reaction is "oh another boy" or "are you happy about it"....and my response is ....you are darn right I am happy about it, I feel so lucky to be having another HEALTHY baby and that is something that not everyone gets to say.  Sure, I heart girl stuff and anyone who knows me knows that I would go bananas over girl clothes but do I picture telling my little guy in a few years " yep we really wanted you to not be you but a girl."  It is just so silly.  Sam will have a little brother and it warms my heart to think about my two little boys being best buddies down the road (and matching sweater vests for Christmas)!  However name suggestions are welcome because right now he is Bubba according to Sam and I need to change that soon before it sticks!

Finally and update!

Summer has flown by!  I am going to be so sad when it ends because I love having all my teacher friends home, we have been busy with playdates and mommy lunch dates, I will miss them so much when fall comes.  BUT fall brings lots of fun things too!  Lets' see not sure where to start....Sam turned 2 in June, still need to post pictures from his party.  We tried to keep it smaller this year but with just immediate family and his play buddies it still was busy busy!  Next, we decided to put our house on the market- NOT what I had planned but figured we wanted to sometime in the next 5 years and now would be better with 1 kid than 2!

I am half way there with baby #2, so happy the sickness is gone but this pregnancy is so different from Sam's that I am in suspense as to if it is a boy or girl???  We go on Friday, Aug. 12 to find out.  I wish I was patient and could wait, but folks, December is a LONG way off for this impatient mama!

Last, I am going to start to sell 31 products.  I love their bags, and quite frankly this stay at home mom needs something else to do.  I do have my grief counseling job 1 night a week, but I just need something else that I can focus on and I do LOVE purses so it is a great fit.  Plus it is a christian company so that is a plus too!  I don't know if I will do parties or whatever, but just fill orders for gifts, etc.  More up my alley than selling other things- so no pressure! :)

I think that is it, hope I remember spell check! :)

Ok, wait- this is a blog about the toddler.....terrible 2's are in full swing, very independent and stubborn but the boy gets it honestly from BOTH parents!  Sam however is so into birthday right now- he loves parties and singing happy birthday- too cute!  He loves to dance and play his guitar.  He goes about 1 time a week with his Papa to Monkey Joes to bounce around and he gets better everytime.  This summer we have been going to story time, swimming lessons, and music class to keep busy.  He is a much better boy when he gets out of the house.  When we move I can't wait to get him a swing set so we can enjoy the fall weather- which can't come soon enough for this lady!  That about sums it up!

Happy Birthday!

Could it be that my little guy is 2 already?  I can't believe 2 years have passed.  Sam has grown and changed so much, it is fun to see all the things he learns and discovers on a daily basis.  Who knew that sweet little newborn would turn into a busy, silly, funny, sweet, and sometimes wild boy!  Can I still call him the toddler?  Happy birthday Samuel Collin- we love you very much!

Oh wow!

Oh wow is right!  Sam is going to be a big brother!  Ack!  We are really excited about it, but I haven't told many people and it is a little scary seeing it in writing!  lol   I swear, God likes to surprise me!  So a quick background story for those who would like to hear it, if not skip to bottom!  When Sam was 6 months old, yes only 6 months old, I got bit by the baby bug!  What was I thinking?  So we decided to just table it until he was 1 and then go for it.  Several months later, nothing and I was determined not to get in that horrible mind set I had before Sam, so I just looked at all the blessings I had and if God was going to give us another then he was and if he wasn't then he wasn't....not sure if I really felt that but I tried so hard to think that way!  Then for a few months I went to my infertility doc and ended up injection shots after a few months of nothing.  Then my insurance changed in Feb. and I called it quits.  I quietly returned to Weight Watchers and started run/walking at home...lost 17 lbs and I think that was the ticket for me.  I had ordered some ovulation tests and pregnancy test from my all time favorite site amazon and took 1 of each when they arrived.  The pregnancy one had 2 lines- WHAT?  So I shoved Sam in the car w/out shoes on and got a digital one....I really couldn't believe that I was shocked by another positive.  So, the next day was Jarrett's birthday and it was so fun to put Sam in his big bro tee shirt and tell him we had a gift for him!  I have been the color green for what feels like 4ever (and ever and ever)- but I will take it.  It is amazing that God is trusting us with another child!  The new bundle is due on Dec. 29- poor Jarrett...this is how his gift giving schedule goes...Dec. 25 Christmas, Dec. 30 our anniversary and his dad's bday, Jan. 7 my bday...and now a baby sometime in that mix!  Good thing he is a non complaining roll with the punches type of guy!  PS- if you are a FB friend don't say anything yet, I still need to tell a few peeps in person and want to wait just a lil bit more but I am busting at the seems to share- guess that will make it real right? :)

Why I am going to shop at midnight from now on...

I have gotten into a good routine with our week and Fridays are grocery store day.   For the last few weeks, I have been off schedule and we ended up going today.   I have been sending the husband to work without lunch or coffee, poor guy and he hasn't said a thing!  So today we go...I have armed with treats and a talk about being good boy, blah, blah- I say blah blah bc that is what Sam heard as I gave him that pep talk.  So the store goes like this...... We get there and he throws fit #1 to sit in the back of the cart.  I figure we can discuss moving to the front after we get into the store.  That was also mistake #1....

We start in the back of the store.  3 isles into or trip, he stands up and won't sit in the back.  I threaten with a warning, haha, that is what goes on in Sam's mind.  I remind him a sucker is at stake if he can't be a good boy.  At that point he yells, so I pop him- yes I spank people!  Then he yells and it is a piercing yell that echoed through the store.  As I say to myself I am one of THOSE moms who has the loud obnixious kid.  So I call Jarrett so he can share in our kids behavior- which makes me more mad bc he says " what am I gonna do about it?"  GRRRR!

Are you seeing where I am going with this?  People were staring, and staring and he was yelling and yelling!  Where is that sweet boy who people complemented?  Where was he????  So basically this went on a few more times.  Check out was extra fun...I had to steer the cart with him under 1 arm to the car....yelling all the way.  So when we got to the car, it was my turn to yell, and he went wee, wee, weeeeee (really loud) all the way home!!!!

I need a drink.

Easter, like a little late

Easter this year was great.  Beautiful weather and it is just more fun with kids!  Sam was into his basket.  He got playdough, 2 toothbrushes, and an elephant. I was proud of my bargain shopping and got all his stuff for about 10 dollars :)  We went to church and our church is growing so fast that we held Easter at the new Clover Hill High School.  It was an awesome service and then the family came over in the afternoon to grill out and celebrate Easter and the husbands birthday which was the day before.  The family did an Easter egg hunt and then we ended up playing a game of dollar store softball with Sam's $1 store bat.....we had a great time!  Love when things work out right!
