around the house

I have been trying to make more of an effort to take pictures of the boys on regular days around the house.  So what if it is messy in the background, if we all some of us are in our pj's all day.  Sam has quite the routine to put his pj's on when he gets home from preschool.  I think we have had way too many trips to Target in rainboots and pjs lately!  There are dishes and there are dirty socks and who knows what else on the floor from about 15 minutes after the boys wake up till after they go to bed.  Thankfully, Jarrett is so helpful and we do a little 10 minute clean up and we are all ready for the next day.  The one thing I learned about being at home is that you do lots if dishes, I see the kitchen many times a day and you also have little messes everywhere.  But I am learning the embrace these things because that just means that I am managing my blessings.

Lately we have been just hanging out, doing our normal routine of preschool, meals, a little outside time, and church things.  Pretty plain, but its us right now :)

This little nugget hangs with me when Sam is at preschool

He is going to be an outdoor boy that's for sure, he loves to look outside at the dogs in the yard.
We will work on getting rid of the pacis eventually :)

And Papa comes to visit and play

And let the wrestling begin!

And some crying.....this happens pretty often!

My cat in the hat

Doesn't everyone eat with whiskers and undies?

And fort building
This hair- lots of people want to talk about it at the store.

And that is our week!

House Progress!!!

Its finally happening!  We are making progress with our house.  I don't think that I have posted anything about our house plans since we bought land back in October.  We closed on that land it was ours on Oct. 31- something about holidays because they cleared our land yesterday and today.  For a while we were waiting around for different meetings with the builder- to pick the exterior and then the interior- and I mean you pick every. little. thing.  I used to think that I wanted to custom build a house and I am thankful that there were but only so many choices with ours because it was overwhelming- what if I didn't like something 10 years from now?  The loan process has taken for-ever-and-a-day, but we are done with that this week and then on to building!

We met with our project manager on the 13th and he was awesome.  We walked our land and saw where the house will sit and went over what would happen next.  We were just excited that things were moving forward when he said that they were all ready to clear the land the next day :)  Happy, happy!  Next is putting in a well which will happen next week.  We haven't really walked the whole piece of land because 5 acres goes a bit back and there are lots of trees out in the country! :)

This is our interior stuff- from left to right, top to bottom- the bathroom tile and sink in master, guest and kids bathroom cabinet, flooring and sink, upstairs carpet
kitchen cabinets, island(the black)batten board, tile and countertops and hardwood floor- my favorite thing- we went with the darkest one.  LOVE!

Our exterior- grey and this house is craftman style so it will have white trim outlining the windows.

Ok, a little more... here are our land clearing pics :)
Our driveway- looking towards the cul de sac

Gabe liked it!

End of driveway, to the right is where I think the garage would be

Front view- the trees in the front are going to be taken down next week.

My favorite part- a quiet street, we are the only house so far!

the little things

Since Christmas, I have been really, really, lets call it irritated.  Maybe it has been before that, but I haven't been stopping and enjoying the little things- which I feel like I do a pretty good job at.  But somewhere between getting stuff done and just having boys who are busy, I haven't stopped to take as many pictures or just enjoy playing without stopping to do something- wash dishes, Facebook, folding laundry, or dragging them to do errands.  Today was so beautiful so we walked to our park and we had it all to ourselves.  The boys had a great time, got a little muddy, but it was nice to stop and just enjoy the little things today!
