house {pt 7}
I try to keep up with the house updates, sometimes the things they do are small- like put some wiring in through the walls...and I don't take pictures of that. :) But, now the drywall has gone up and the house is divided up into rooms. It makes it seem more real and I can visualize how things will look now. I think that later this week we should have our cabinets up and I am really excited to see that kind of house stuff go up. We picked a light color cabinet called biscotti, maybe it was the Italian name, but I liked them. They are an off white color and I think they will coordinate well with our really dark floors. Its hard to commit to something that you will have for a very long time, but I think that we will be happy with this. Now, if I could figure out paint colors- that to me seems like a huge choice!

pout pouty
Well you know how I never write about my youngest, strong willed, loud-as-a-foghorn son right? haha.
18 months has been a magical age for us. Magical in the sense that now we have a toddler, I can't ignore it. I even let the little dude use a fork for the first time, he was totally ready for it, I on the other hand am not ready for the temper tantrums.
I will be honest, I get flustered when my kids yell in public places, we have left one too many places lately with them because of behavior choices. I just can't have a kid with meltdown ruin other peoples nice dates at places to eat or the store. I go to Target for peace and quiet and darn if I want to hear other peoples kids yelling. This is only recent, and really has me thinking that this parenting thing is getting harder as they get older. Gabe is so, so, so precious. I mean, I would bite his cheeks if I wouldn't get weird looks :) He is friendly to everyone, lets family members hold him, smiles at people and waves... just so darn cute. But, the boy has a temper. And, gosh darn it, I am getting to Target one of these days with quiet children! So, to tame the temper, we started with time outs, just for a minute, but he really protests them. D.R.A.M.A.T.I.C. And as I tell myself about challenging stuff, this too shall pass.

packing up
We are beginning to pack up some of our rooms, well at least I should be doing that. The playroom hasn't always been a playroom for us, it was a dining room and then after Gabe was born, we made it into a playroom because it just made more sense to utilize it each day instead of a few times a year. And lets face it, toys seem to multiply for some reason so I liked the idea of keeping them contained in a room.
Now that we are really, like actually getting ready to move.... I am getting a little sad about some of the special things about this house. The playroom is bright, sunny, and I think it may be one of my favorite spots in the house. So, before I move all the stuff and box up some toys we won't see for a bit, I took a few pictures of the boys in their space. Pretty accurate of how it looks each day- toys all over, Gabe half dressed, Sam in train gear and pj's that are a little too tight for him. :)
