the return of elfie

I some how skip over Thanksgiving and I cannot figure out why- maybe because it is at our house? I have no idea.  Gabe peed in his cute Thanksgiving outfit and I never got one single picture.  Oh well, the rest of the boys life is pretty well documented!

I digress, now on to Elfie!  He is back.  Some people can't stand this whole Elf On A Shelf thing, but I love it.  And thanks to Pinterest, I don't have to rack my brain all the time about fun things to do with him.  Sam is really into it this year so I can't wait until the end of December to put up all of his shenanigans- how in the world do you spell that?  I am really excited for Christmas even more than normal because my babies are so excited- well Sam is, but Gabe is just cute.  We will save the talk about his birthday for another post. Sniff, sniff.

I am determined to soak up all I can this Christmas, I am so famous for saying " I will get to it" and never do and then it is January and I am so sad that I let another year go by without really doing all I had planned.  I am no Susie homemaker, but we did make some cinnamon ornaments- 2 ingredients- fun!  We are already in full swing with our Christmas music and next is to work on an advent calendar- we really want Sam to understand why we have Christmas.  Santa is a figure in our house, but he is just something we talk about a little.  I am working on making Elfie a reminder of why we have Christmas and not just a little elf that reports to Santa if Sam was good or bad.  Whew- there are learning opportunities in everything when you have little ones!

Tree is done- Sam is way excited about the train that goes around it!

Elfie arrived on a train and left some pj's to wear for tree decorating.

Day 2 he was hanging on our kitchen light

Making our ornaments, they smell so good!

Gabe supervising the ornaments

Day 3, riding on a dino

Ready to hang up! We made enough for everyone we know!

Pretty :)

11 months

Its my little guys last month of his pictures.  Next time I take one, Gabe will be one year old!  But we aren't going to talk about that right now! :)

Dear Gabe,

11 months precious boy!  I am so excited to plan your birthday party for next month- we are having a moustache bash!  And you know your mama got your the cutest little shirt with a tie and suspenders for you to wear!  This last month you have been looking more like a soon-to-be toddler because you are crawling faster, watching how things work and figuring out already how to touch your brothers most favorite toys!  Now, I can't sit to do blog posts anymore during the day because you are busy, busy!  Just last week you pulled up and keep doing it on all pieces of furniture.  You also can get down after you pull up which is new.  You waved bye-bye to your aunt Tammy and clapped at Sam!  So many cute and new things for you big guy.  I just love how sweet you are and lay your head on my shoulder when I pick you up.  Such a happy guy except when your food is gone- can't we blame you on that one! :)  Next month is such a special month for all of us.  We are so thankful for you and your brother and having a Christmas baby makes it all the more brighter.  Happy 11 months little moo-moo!

Love,
mama

Take 20!

november pictures

So, nothing to report about the Wilson's this week except Jarrett and I have been eating better for a whole week and while we feel better already, I am still SO hungry and grumpy!   There I feel better now! I took some pictures for Christmas for the grandparents and put up a few.  I have been taking more pictures for different people and have really been enjoying it.  My photos are no where, where I envision them to be, but I gotta start somewhere right?

My handsome little Sam :)

Beautiful nieces!  Sam's best buddy is his cousin Logan.

All the Wilson grandchildren so far!

5.1

We have some exciting news!!!  If you have been reading the blog, for over the past few years we have wanted to find land and either build or buy a house.  We had our house on the market for several months and checked out house after house and property but it just wasn't in our budget nor the area we wanted to live.  So, we took it off the market and just honestly began to pray that we would be able to build the house we want on the land we want. That seemed like such a big thing to be faithful about, I mean how often does that happen?  2 acre lots where we were looking were out of our price range for the most part and putting a house on top of that was just not gonna happen!  But we had faith that our patience would pay off.  About 2 weeks ago, Jarrett got in one of those "I want to move moods" and I was NOT on board with it.  He started searching and found a piece of land in a new neighborhood that was in a cul-de-sac, good location and more land then we both had hoped for (5 acres) for a really, REALLY good- too good to be true price.  So we drove out there and both loved it!  It was perfect for us.  We checked into it a bit more and it was some land that was in foreclosure.  We put a bid in on it, only to wait over a week to find out that 4 more people had put bid on it too.

This made us start to worry, but we held true to our confession that this was our land.  My dad kept saying to not get our hopes up and I told him we weren't because we knew it was ours.  Even our agent seemed like she was unsure if the bank was going to accept our offer since it was priced extremely way under value and there were so many more bids.  We decided to just keep praying over it that it was ours and if it was we were supposed to ours then we would get it.

On Thursday afternoon, I got a call that they had accepted our offer!!!!!!!  We are beyond excited and excited about this next adventure in our lives.  Thankful doesn't describe how we feel right now since we spent a good part of this whole year paying for Gabe's birth and NICU stay.  We are right now looking at building, nothing fancy, maybe changing somethings to fit our family....more storage, 2 car garage.  Jarrett said on our first date that he wanted to find land and live in the country one day, me- I like to be near Target :) BUT he has always gone along with any of my ideas and dreams, so I figured that being out in the quiet county won't be so bad.  I am so happy that my boys will have lots of places to play, imagine, dig and get dirty!
