Well you know how I never write about my youngest, strong willed, loud-as-a-foghorn son right? haha.
18 months has been a magical age for us. Magical in the sense that now we have a toddler, I can't ignore it. I even let the little dude use a fork for the first time, he was totally ready for it, I on the other hand am not ready for the temper tantrums.
I will be honest, I get flustered when my kids yell in public places, we have left one too many places lately with them because of behavior choices. I just can't have a kid with meltdown ruin other peoples nice dates at places to eat or the store. I go to Target for peace and quiet and darn if I want to hear other peoples kids yelling. This is only recent, and really has me thinking that this parenting thing is getting harder as they get older. Gabe is so, so, so precious. I mean, I would bite his cheeks if I wouldn't get weird looks :) He is friendly to everyone, lets family members hold him, smiles at people and waves... just so darn cute. But, the boy has a temper. And, gosh darn it, I am getting to Target one of these days with quiet children! So, to tame the temper, we started with time outs, just for a minute, but he really protests them. D.R.A.M.A.T.I.C. And as I tell myself about challenging stuff, this too shall pass.
