My big guy turned 4!  And I stressed over his party like it was a wedding.  My goal with parties is to always celebrate my kids birthdays and I make year 1 a bigger party, but I want to keep them not too big because then they will always expect huge parties and gifts and that is not what a birthday is about. Easier said than done.  We are so thankful for all the family and friends we have, but it makes parties stressful because that is a lot of people to invite, feed, favors, etc.  So after Sam's 1st birthday, I scaled back and made it a goal to do birthday parties for $100 or less.  I was thinking that our house was going to be still for sale since we just put it on the market 3 days prior, but it sold!!!!!  I had it in my head that we would go to a jump place and all I had to do was bring a cake- wrong!  However, I do love having people over, but lately between family stuff, hosting events for church at our house, and selling the house, I am over cleaning up!  Now, aren't you glad that you know all that????  :)

Sam wanted a Toy Story party, which was pretty easy to do, but I don't like everything to be all "matchy, matchy"- is that a real word?  So, I kept it simple.  I was kinda proud of myself for figuring out how to decorate the cake.

His first piece of birthday mail, he was over the moon about it!

We spent his birthday by having breakfast out and headed to Ashland to watch some trains.

The train hobby store, he would like 1 of everything I think!

Opening gifts- a little hectic to keep track of stuff.  He got a conductor hat and a train ride with Papa.
